Job Summary
Greet patients, measure vital signs, and record interviews while assisting physicians with exams and procedures. Perform phlebotomy, EKGs, and prepare for X-rays and surgical setups. Administer medications, change dressings, and manage patient logs for lab requests and CT scans. Open the office, maintain room turnover, and ensure accurate documentation and HIPAA compliance. Prepare the next day's schedule, confirm appointments, and scribe as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of a Medical Assistant program or equivalent experience (based on State regulation requirements)
- 6 months experience working within a physician's office
- Urology experience
- Medical Assistant Certification or Registration
- Must demonstrate excellent organizational skills and the ability to perform well in stressful situations
- Knowledge in healthcare systems operations such as EMR, Practice Management Solutions
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple deadlines
- Project Management
- Vendor relations (for those MA's that are required to order office and clinical supplies)
- Database management
- Strong problem-solving skills
- Skill in using computer programs and applications including Microsoft Office
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Delivers exceptional patient service throughout all interactions
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Complies with HIPAA regulations for patient confidentiality
- Regularly adheres and supports compliance and accreditation efforts as assigned including, but not limited to OSHA, HIPAA & CMS guidelines for Parts C & D on General Compliance and Fraud, Waste & Abuse
- Meets established attendance criteria and starts work promptly
- Punctual and dependable for assigned/confirmed shifts
- Respects and acknowledges the organizations commitment to cultural diversity, which is expressed through behavior, language and actions
- Consistently demonstrates good use of time and resources
- Adherence to HR, & Corporate policies and procedures
- Ensures that all medical records are accurate and complete for all patients
