Job Summary
Medical Assistant II at Medical Diagnostic Center, full-time daytime role in Indianapolis, IN. Responsibilities include rooming patients and obtaining vital signs, performing medication reconciliation, providing lab coverage, managing faxes and documentation, requesting/ tracking medical records, and registration/scheduling with EMR maintenance. Requires current medical assisting certification (CMA/RMA/CCMA/NCMA/CMAC) and AHA BLS; emphasizes OSHA/CLIA/ADA knowledge, ICD-10 and CPT coding, front-office duties, and potential precepting of MA team members. Additional duties may include entry of orders per physician instructions and ensuring timely completion of procedures and referrals.
Required Qualifications
- Must be Certified Medical Assistant (CMA), Registered Medical Assistant (RMA), CCMA, NCMA, or CMAC current certification
- High school diploma or equivalent
- AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required for healthcare workers
- Knowledge of OSHA, CLIA, and ADA
- Knowledge of ICD-10 and CPT coding required
- Experience or familiarity with EMR/Electronic Medical Records systems
- Ability to perform rooming of patients and vital signs
- Medication reconciliation
- Lab coverage and processing
- Management of incoming faxes and documentation
- Request and track medical records
- Registration and scheduling activities per procedures
- Maintains EMR files and front office tasks
- Possibility of computerized physician order entry as directed
- Expected to precept MA team members or externs
