Job Summary
Medical Assistant II position supporting clinical and non-clinical patient services under healthcare providers. Responsibilities include taking vital signs, interviewing patients, preparing equipment, guiding patients to exam rooms, collecting specimens (including phlebotomy if competent), documenting in medical records, scheduling appointments, explaining treatments and physician instructions, and coordinating with physicians, nurse practitioners, and nursing staff to facilitate efficient care. Requires assisting with onboarding of junior Medical Assistants, ensuring accurate patient data in records, managing patient flow, and providing positive customer service. Must have strong interpersonal skills, be able to prioritize tasks in a busy environment, and be proficient with EHR systems and medical terminology. Licenses/credentials include Basic Life Support and Certified Medical Assistant certification; 1-2 years direct MA experience preferred.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or Equivalent or Associate's Degree
- Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification
- Certified Medical Assistant (National Certification)
- 1-2 years of MA experience or medical field work
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Proficiency in electronic health record (EHR) systems and medical office software
- Ability to take vital signs and collect specimens
- Knowledge of medical terminology and patient care procedures
