Job Summary
Medical Assistant II in Dermatology providing clinical and clerical support to the patient care team. Performs back-office and patient-related tasks to support delivery of high-quality care, assists clinicians, helps ensure smooth patient workflow, and applies knowledge of medical procedures, anatomy, physiology, and terminology. Responsibilities include taking vital signs, preparing patients for exams, administering injections, interpreting data/instructions, communicating clearly with diverse audiences, managing time effectively, and using electronic health records. Requires HS Diploma or GED and completion of a CA Medical Assistant program or Sutter Health on-the-job training, plus Basic Life Support certification; 1 year of relevant experience preferred. Position is full-time with standard weekday schedule. Benefits included.
Required Qualifications
- HS Diploma or GED
- Completion of Medical Assistant training/course per Medical Board requirements or Sutter Health on-the-job training equivalent to one year
- BLS-Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider
- 1 year of recent relevant experience (preferred)
- General knowledge of medical procedures, anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology
- Competent medical assisting skills (vital signs, patient prep, injections)
- Ability to interpret data and instructions
- Strong written and verbal communication
- Time management and organizational skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and EHR
- Ability to work independently and in a team
- Ability to prioritize and follow standardized procedures
- Ability to build collaborative relationships with peers
- Ability to work in a structured healthcare environment
