Job Summary
Provides clinical and clerical support to dermatology providers and patient care teams by performing back-office and patient-related tasks to support delivery of high-quality patient care. Helps ensure smooth patient flow and workflow, and assists the patient care team in implementing the medical plan of care. Integrates education, technical competence, and patient interaction to gain confidence and cooperation from patients, families, and other healthcare providers. Performs duties under the direction of a clinician. Requires HS Diploma/GED and completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program or equivalent on-the-job training; BLS certification; typically 1 year of relevant experience; proficient with computer applications including EHR and MS Office; strong communication and organizational skills; ability to work both independently and as part of a team; ability to prioritize tasks within standardized procedures.
Required Qualifications
- HS Diploma or GED
- Completion of medical assisting program per Medical Board of California requirements (must present diploma within 90 days) OR Sutter Health on-the-job training equivalent to one year
- BLS-Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider
- Typically 1 year of recent relevant experience
