Job Summary

Conduct patient care tasks including rooming, vital signs, medication reconciliation, and allergy reviews. Perform lab duties such as venipuncture, specimen collection, and CLIA-approved waived tests while administering medications and vaccines safely. Assist providers with procedures, manage point-of-care testing, and handle scheduling, messaging, and supply ordering. Maintain a clean environment, ensure equipment is stocked and functional, and demonstrate age-appropriate care assessment skills. Work 7am-5pm Monday through Friday with one day off.

Required Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program
  • Structured military training which is clinical in nature per DD214 in lieu of a formal medical assistant program or EMT
  • 2 years of verifiable full-time experience as a Medical Assistant within the last 5 years
  • Current American Heart Association (AHA) BLS certification
  • Successful completion of Atrium Health's competency assessment
  • Certification as a CMA or RMA by one of the following National Organizations: American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA), National Health Career Association (NHA), National Healthcare Worker's Association (NHCWA), National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT), American Registry of Medical Assistants (ARMA), American Medical Technologists (AMT), National Association for Health Professionals (NAHP), National Registry of Medical Assistants (NRMA)
  • Recognition or certification as a Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA) issued by the National Health Career Association (NHA)
  • Recognition or certification as an RMA issued by the American Medical Technologists (AMT)
  • Recognition or certification as a Medical Assistant (NCMA) issued by the National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT)
  • Recognition or certification as a Clinical Medical Assistant Certification (CMAC)
  • Recognition or certification as an American Medical Certification Association (AMCA)
  • Ability to lift 35 pounds without assistance
  • Functional speech, vision, hearing, and touch with ability to use fine-hand manipulation skills

  • Pediatric Emergency Assessment, Recognition, and Stabilization (PEARS) certification
  • OSHA/IP certificate
  • SPICE certificate
  • Vaccine coordinator role
  • Safety coach role
  • Super-user role

  • Professional practice advancement through professional governance
