Job Summary
Medical Assistant II (Ambulatory & Outpatient) in Albemarle, NC performing rooming/visit tasks (vital signs, history, medication reconciliation, screenings), assisting providers with procedures, venipuncture, POCT, CLIA-waived testing, vaccination administration, scheduling and referrals, and maintenance of safe, compliant clinical operations. Requires MA program completion or equivalent clinical training, and CMA/RMA certification with BLS; strong communication, teamwork, and proficiency with EMR systems; minimum 2 years clinical experience preferred; must meet age-appropriate care requirements and maintain competency per department standards.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program or structured military training which is clinical in nature per DD214 in lieu of a formal medical assistant program or EMT
- Certification / License: Current American Heart Association (AHA) BLS certification; CMA or RMA certification by one of the following national organizations: AAMA, NHA, NHCWA, NCCT, AMT, NAHP, NRMA, CCMA, CMAC, AMCA; Wake Forest requirements for competency and training as applicable; ability to obtain/maintain system-approved training to become a primary trainer for new teammates; experience as a Medical Assistant (2 years) in a clinical practice setting.
