Job Summary
Collaborate with the Nurse to determine work assignments, communicate task completion status, and triage calls. Maintain timely verbal communication to ensure patient care and clinic operations, while collecting, collating, and entering accurate data into databases. Treat patients with dignity, assist with personal hygiene, and escort patients to off-site appointments or facilitate transportation. Perform daily inventory checks, order supplies, and handle copying, faxing, and filing. Work in a fast-paced environment at mobile clinic sites as a driver when assigned, while preserving patient confidentiality and rights. Requires two years of MA experience, CPR/BLS certification, and a current Arizona driver's license.
Required Qualifications
- Basic knowledge of medical terminology
- Completion of an approved Medical Assistant training course
- Able to obtain vital signs accurately
- Ability to use personal computer for recording patient data /history
- Proficient in reading and writing skills in English
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, challenging environment
- Demonstrated interest in working with an underserved population
- 2 years of MA experience
- Certified Medical Assistant or Registered
- High school diploma or GED
- CPR/BLS certification
- Requires a current Arizona state driver's license
Desired Qualifications
- Experience in a medical environment highly desirable
- Bi-lingual communicative skills preferred
