Job Summary
Deliver direct and indirect patient care by collecting healthcare data, performing phlebotomy, administering treatments and immunizations, and preparing patients for examinations. Complete patient care testing and treatments as ordered while ensuring completeness, accuracy, and timeliness of documentation. Perform clerical functions including answering telephone calls, verifying patient demographics, entering codes into the billing system, and preparing charts for clinic sessions. Provide pre- and post-examination education, counseling, and exit counseling to patients. Adhere to infection control processes, National Patient Safety Goals, and survey readiness protocols while rotating shifts and traveling between system locations as needed.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma, GED or next level of higher education
- Strong leadership ability
- Good organizational skills
- Independent and critical thinking skills
- Sound judgment
- Knowledge of legal aspects and liability of nursing practice
- Strong ability to communicate complex and/or controversial topics and concepts to a wide and diverse audience
- Act 33 with renewal
- Act 34 with renewal
- Act 73 FBI Clearance
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) approved curriculum of the American Heart Association (CPR and AED) program
- Northern Market: Family & Friends
- Southern Market: Current Basic Life Support (BLS) approved curriculum of the American Heart Association (CPR and AED) program required
- Travel may be expected locally between System locations
- Incumbent will be scheduled based on operational need (rotate shifts, standby, on-call, etc.)
- When lift requirement is in excess of 50#, lift assistance (2 person) and/or transfer device is required
Desired Qualifications
- Previous outpatient office experience
- Successful completion of Medical Assistant program or experience as a Medical Assistant for one (1) year OR Certified EMT/Paramedic under the National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians
- Medical Assistant Certification preferred
