Job Summary
Greet patients, maintain medical records, and triage requests to evaluate potential emergencies or utilize the Lead Nurse when schedules are full. Perform clinical duties including vital signs, point-of-care testing, medication administration, and preparing rooms for procedures. Collaborate on insurance forms, scheduling services, and completing quarterly lab proficiency testing. Manage daily inventory, ensure sterilization protocols, and lead huddles or daily duty oversight as needed. Respond to flags, assist with orientation, and complete annual competency assessments. Floating is required to assist in prioritizing patient care across all assigned sites.
Required Qualifications
- Medical assistant training (school or on the job training, proof of education)
- BLS certification/training and certification
- Knowledgeable about emergency calls and maintains current CPR
- Completes and passes annual competency assessments
- Floating is a requirement of all MA levels to assist in prioritizing patient care and access as needed
- Ability to complete all the duties and responsibilities outlined in step I & II beyond immediate supervision
- Comply with all CLIA, AAHC, and other certifying or accrediting agency regulations and standards
Desired Qualifications
- One-year medical office experience preferred
- Knowledge of equipment and technology used in the nursing area
- Sensitivity to low income, vulnerable populations
- Ability to work as a team member, maintains a professional relationship and positive attitude with other
