Job Summary
Medical Assistant I provides clinical support during routine patient visits, including preparing labs and materials, taking vitals, performing EKGs, administering immunizations and vaccines, collecting specimens, and documenting encounters. The role supports providers, operates clinical equipment, ensures vaccine administration per the five rights, coordinates referrals and follow-up, and may rotate to other clinic sites. Requires an Medical Assistant certificate, 160 externship hours (or 1 year of experience), BLS, and strong documentation and computer skills. Bilingual abilities (e.g., English plus Spanish, Cantonese, or Mandarin) are beneficial; location is San Francisco, CA. This is an in-person, non-exempt role compliant with OSHA requirements and may require Nevada licensure for specific duties.},
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Medical Assistant certificate from an accredited school
- Documentation and completion of 160 hours of externship or 1 year of work experience as Medical Assistant
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS)
- Knowledge of medical terminology
- Proficiency in computer usage (Microsoft Office; EMR experience, EPIC is a plus)
- Fluency in English; additional languages (Spanish, Cantonese, Mandarin) may be required depending on location
- Nevada Laboratory License (Nevada Only)
