Job Summary
Medical Assistant I position performing patient care during routine visits, assisting with vital signs, EKGs, immunizations, vaccines, and specimen collection. Works under supervision of a medical provider/RN/LVN; ensures accurate documentation, uses various medical equipment (EKG, spirometer, autoclave, glucometer, etc.), administers vaccines, supports vaccine funding protocols, prepares exam rooms, facilitates patient education, and rotates to other clinic sites as needed. Requires Medical Assistant certificate, HS diploma or GED, 160 externship hours or 1 year MA experience, BLS, English fluency (and potential additional language requirements based on location). Full-time, non-exempt role in Daly City, CA.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED or equivalent
- Medical Assistant certificate from an accredited school
- Documentation of 160 hours of externship or 1 year of work experience as a Medical Assistant
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Proficiency in typing at least 35 words per minute
- Knowledge of medical terminology
- Proficiency in computer usage; EMR experience (EPIC is a plus)
- Ability to speak and write English fluently; bilingual abilities may be required depending on location
