Job Summary
Medical Assistant I in Orthopedics supports patient prep and exam flow, including obtaining vital signs, documenting health information, conducting/assisting with lab procedures and certain procedures (e.g., pelvic exams, allergy testing, EMG, cautery, colposcopy). Administers routine medications under physician/APP orders or standing protocols, coordinates referrals and appointments, communicates with the care team, and performs clinical support tasks (e.g., phlebotomy, EKG, spirometry) within scope. Must demonstrate age-appropriate patient care knowledge and strong communication to ensure smooth clinic operations; may perform additional duties as assigned. Requires BLS and CMA/CCMA/NCMA/RMA-type certification and a high school diploma or GED, with an associate degree in medical assisting preferred. One year of experience is preferred.”,
Required Qualifications
- Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification issued by the American Heart Association (AHA)
