Job Summary
Manage patient flow, access, and scheduling to optimize appointment availability and expedite care for clinicians. Coordinate practice operations when providers are unavailable, sort mail, screen messages, and verify prior authorizations. Resolve patient satisfaction concerns, handle third-party requests for documentation, and assist in care improvement activities like Rapid Improvement Events. Train and orient new staff, represent the department on EMR upgrade teams, and float among departments as needed. Full-time, 40 hours Monday through Friday between 8:00am and 6:00pm.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- One year experience working as a Medical Assistant performing front and clinical back-office duties or prior experience working in a clinical customer service setting
- Associates or Bachelors can be substituted for experience
Desired Qualifications
- Medical Assistant Certification
- American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS)
- 3+ years of experience in a clinical setting
- 1+ years of experience as a Medical Assistant
- Experience working with EPIC EMR software
