Job Summary
Medical Assistant I at ClareMedica provides ancillary clinical support to clinic providers to ensure efficient patient care. Responsibilities include taking vital signs and medical history, assisting with examinations, preparing patients for exams, performing routine screening tests, coordinating radiographic and laboratory studies, generating and organizing medical records, coordinating communications between patients and providers, offering health education, maintaining supplies and sterile technique, and upholding HIPAA and OSHA compliance. The role requires strong communication, teamwork, and the ability to travel locally/regionally up to 10% as needed, with proficiency in medical software and standard office tools.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED) required
- Graduate of an approved Medical Assistant training program preferred
- Minimum 1 year of work experience as Medical Assistant or related role OR documented clinical rotation training
- CPR for Health Care workers or BCLS certification preferred
- HIPAA compliance and confidentiality
- Experience with geriatric patients a plus
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Excel) and other software
- Ability to travel locally/regionally up to 10%
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Ability to work both independently and within a team
- English proficiency; bilingual a plus
- EMR experience preferred
- Healthcare/clinic environment familiarity
- Infection control and OSHA standards familiarity
- CPR/BCLS and other healthcare certifications preferred
