Job Summary
Greet patients in person or by phone, answer inquiries, and direct them to examining rooms. Verify patient information by interviewing, reviewing medical history, and confirming visit purposes. Support care delivery by assisting providers during exams, preparing and testing laboratory specimens, disposing of contaminated supplies, sterilizing instruments, and telephoning prescriptions. Educate patients on medications and instructions, complete examination and treatment records, and maintain supply inventory. Keep equipment operational through troubleshooting, maintenance, and preventive checks while ensuring patient confidentiality.
Required Qualifications
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Completion of a Medical Assistant program or certification such as CMA or RMA
- Bachelor's degree in Biology
- Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) certification
- Five (5) years of continuous experience working as a Medical Assistant
- Schedule Monday: 7:45am-4:30pm
- Schedule Tuesday: 7:45am-4:30pm
- Schedule Wednesday: 11:00am-6:30pm
- Schedule Thursday: 7:45am-4:30pm
- Schedule Friday: 7:45am-4:30pm
- Saturday (1-2 per month): 8:00 - 12:00PM
Desired Qualifications
- Previous Medical Assistant experience
- Experience with Epic EMR
