Job Summary
Seeking a Medical Assistant responsible for facilitating communication between patients and providers, preparing patients for visits, documenting vitals, maintaining exam room standards, and assisting providers with medication prescriptions. Candidates should have a high school diploma or GED and complete an accredited Medical Assistant training program. Required certifications include an active Medical Assistant certification and BLS certification. Strong computer skills, interpersonal communication, and time management abilities are essential.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma/GED
- Graduation from an accredited Medical Assistant training program as defined by state regulations
- Active Medical Assistant certification such as RMA, CMA, CCMA, or NCMA
- BLS certification required
- Must pass the MA competency exam within the first six months of employment
Desired Qualifications
- Experience in orthopedics, spine surgery, or pain management is preferred
- Graduated from a formal training program during the last 12-18 months
- CMA certificate
- Experience with office medical procedures and treatments
- Knowledge of insurance, managed care operations, EMR and scheduling software
