Job Summary
Medical Assistant (MA II) works under the delegation of a licensed practitioner to perform duties as directed to assist in providing patient care to assigned patients. The role is fully capable in clinical needs and functions for the assigned clinic/location, operating under established policies and procedures. Responsibilities include supporting patient care in hematology/oncology settings, obtaining vital signs, administering injections, and medication administration. Requires hands-on training in clinical settings, relevant healthcare experience (minimum 6 months MA experience), and completion of BLS within 30 days of hire. Preferred certification: National Medical Assistant Certification upon hire.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited school that includes hands on training in a clinical setting for medical assistants
- Graduate of a registered medical assistant apprenticeship program
- Has completed two years of medical training in the United States Armed Forces
- Minimum one year of work experience as a medical assistant that includes vital signs, injections, and medication administration
- National Provider BLS - American Heart Association within 30 days of hire
- 6 months Healthcare experience
- 6 months Medical Assistant experience
- Preferred: National Medical Assistant Certification upon hire
