Job Summary
Assist with patient care by taking vital signs, preparing patients for examinations, and assisting in procedures within the Helen DeVos Pediatric Residency Clinic. Support the team of 83 residents and 8 attending physicians in delivering high-quality annual well child and sick visits for patients ages 0–21. Ensure smooth office operations through strong organizational and communication skills while maintaining a compassionate environment. This role offers a $3,000 sign-on bonus for external applicants or current CHW MA Apprentice Students. Requires completion of an accredited Medical Assistant training program or one year of relevant experience, with AHA or ARC BLS certification required within 90 days. Full-time day shift from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant training program that includes hands-on, in-person clinical skills training
- Minimum of one (1) year of experience working specifically in the role of a Medical Assistant, LPN, Paramedic or EMT performing direct patient care and clinical support functions consistent with MA scope of practice
- 1 year of relevant experience in a physician practice or healthcare setting
- AHA or ARC Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification
- One of the following certifications: AAMA Certified Medical Assistant (CMA), AMT Registered Medical Assistant (RMA), NHA Certified Medical Assistant (CCMA), NCCT Certified Medical Assistant (NCMA), NAHP Certified Medical Assistant (NRCMA)
