Job Summary
Deliver patient care by obtaining histories, reviewing systems, and preparing patients for examinations and procedures. Complete patient notes, scribe assessments and treatment plans, and input data for MIPS. Administer medications using the Five Rights, mix and draw up treatments, and perform phototherapy per protocols. Assist providers during exams, surgeries, and biopsies while obtaining prior authorizations and preparing surgical supplies. Clean exam rooms, sterilize instruments, manage biohazards, restock areas, and prepare specimens for courier pickup. Contact patients with pathology results to triage care or schedule follow-ups, and maintain accurate documentation across all visits.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Active CPR certification
- Willing to use nursing skills
- Willing to learn numerous dermatologic procedures
- Willing to work independently yet closely with others as a team player
- Able to take initiative
- Possess strong attention to detail
- Able to communicate effectively (verbally and in writing) with patients, providers, and staff
- Able to learn and perform procedures and tasks as listed in the job description
- Must be capable of lifting and carrying 20lbs, and occasionally up to 50lbs
- Must be proficient in using basic medical math skills
- Problem-solving and use of reasoning skills to make discriminating judgments knowing right from wrong
- Have legible handwriting
- Dress according to guidelines in personnel manual
- Must be capable of utilizing EHR for medical documentation on both desktop and tablet platforms
- Successfully completed dermatech program and obtain certification
