Job Summary
Medical Assistant will prepare patients for health care visits, assist providers during examinations, and update patient health records. Responsibilities include directing patients to exam rooms, positioning for examinations, arranging instruments, taking vital signs, recording medical history, assisting with ECGs and heart monitoring, disposing of contaminated supplies, processing drug refills as directed, and telephoning prescriptions. Minor wound care and dressing changes in vascular clinics, patient education on medications and diet, completing records in EMR, and maintaining HIPAA-compliant confidentiality are required. Adheres to JCAHO standards and professional policies; participates in ongoing education and interdepartmental care coordination. Performs EKGs, applies Holter monitors, and copies medical records to insurers. Travel to other OK offices may be required; valid driver's license needed. BLS and CMA certification are desired. Proficiency in Word/Excel/Teams and EMR systems is expected.
