Medical Assistant Heart Failure and Transplant

Medical Assistant for Intermountain Health's Advanced Heart Failure & Transplant Clinic (Intermountain Medical Center, Murray, UT). Performs routine clerical and clinical tasks to support Physicians and licensed providers, including scheduling and coordinating appointments, processing admissions/tests/treatments, maintaining medical records, managing supplies, documenting patient history and vital information, coding encounters, performing pre-authorizations and referrals, facilitating timely billing, and triaging patient needs. Provides patient education as directed and supports a range of clinical functions (clinical intake, screening tests such as visual/audiology/spirometry, EKGs, assisting with examinations, and post-visit follow-through). Requires current BLS and completion of MA training or LPN/RN licensure depending on MA level, with ongoing competency assessments and potential progression across MA I-III. Works 20 hours per week with a schedule including Tuesday–Friday 1:00pm–5:00pm and clinic hours Mon–Fri 7:00am–5:00pm, at Intermountain Medical Center in Murray, Utah. Also participates in quality improvement initiatives and attends weekly MA staff meetings. The role emphasizes accurate documentation, third-party authorization adherence, timely referrals, and coordination of laboratory and imaging results within an ambulatory care setting.
