Job Summary
Medical Assistant needed to work alongside physicians, performing a mix of administrative and clinical duties under supervision. Responsibilities include obtaining and recording patient medical history, assessing patients at visits, taking and recording vital signs, preparing patients for examinations, assisting physicians during examinations, explaining physician instructions, administering medications as directed, performing venipuncture, ensuring proper storage of medications and sharps per AHCA regulations, monitoring vaccine refrigeration, maintaining medication expiration dates, supporting HEDIS measures with physicians, documenting daily notes per federal/state guidelines, maintaining HIPAA/OSHA compliance, completing immunization records, performing phlebotomy, ensuring data privacy, and using EHR systems. Requires high school diploma or equivalent and an accredited medical assistant certification; phlebotomy certification preferred; prior clinical experience and strong communication/organizational skills; bilingual ability preferred.
Required Qualifications

- Medical assistant certification from an accredited organization
- Phlebotomy certification preferred
- Prior clinical experience
- MS Office programs experience
- Knowledge of medical terminology
- Knowledge of EHR
- Bilingual skills preferred (English/Spanish or English/Creole)
- Strong organizational and interpersonal skills
- Strong written and verbal communications skills
- Ability to work independently and carry out assignments to completion
- Ability to use logic and reasoning to identify strengths/weaknesses of approaches
- Willingness to participate in ongoing education to maintain certifications
