Job Summary
Assists in coordinating examination, treatment and health care planning under the direction of the provider; prepares and rooms patients; obtains vital signs and patient information; screens tobacco and medications; may assist with depression screening; completes annual wellness visit screenings; reviews and updates medication lists in the EHR; may pend/cues up orders for screenings, prescriptions, refills, or other orders; performs back office testing; assists providers with examinations and procedures; may serve as a scribe; may float between physician locations; ensures supplies and cleanliness of treatment areas; documents in the EHR; performs clerical duties and other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum High School / GED or Completion of a Medical Assistant Program
- CPR – American Heart Association
- Act 34 Criminal Background Clearance Certificate Act 33 Child Abuse Clearance Certificate Act 73 FBI Fingerprinting Criminal Background Clearance Certificate
- Certification Requirements: Employees who have graduated from a medical assistant program within five years OR proof of one year of work experience as a medical assistant in the last three years must complete certification training and/or attempt testing within 30 days of hire and must obtain certification within 120 days of hire. Accepted Medical Assistant Certification (NHA, AAMA, AMT, NCCT, AMCA)
