Job Summary

Calibrate daily medical equipment including x-ray machines, respirator fit testers, and pulmonary function machines. Conduct periodic safety surveys to identify and correct hazards, then administer respirator fit tests in full compliance with CFR 1910.134. Facilitate patient triage, vital signs, and room placement while maintaining strict confidentiality of all customer data. Respond to after-hour calls and communicate promptly with radiology vendors to ensure quick reporting. Thoroughly disinfect and inspect respirators after each test. Maintain a working knowledge of all equipment and complete administrative steps to verify and record required information.

Required Qualifications

  • At least 5 years of occupational medicine or equivalent experience
  • General organizational skills
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
  • Current full unrestricted certification
  • Computer skills, including electronic medical records
  • Must be able to fully pass all job site verification requirements, including but not limited to a background check, drug screening, and safety examinations
  • Customer service skills
  • Strong communication skills both written and oral
  • Must enjoy working with the public and have a strong initiative to work independently and as a team member
  • Must be able to adapt to work in varied environments and learn detailed procedures
  • Proven ability to work under pressure and make effective decisions
  • Cross-train and assist other departments as necessary
  • Willingness to work at different locations if the company need arises
  • Must be able to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds

Desired Qualifications

  • Advanced credentials
  • Attend and successfully pass a week-long certifying course in NIOSH and CAOCH
  • Attend and successfully pass all required drug and alcohol testing courses
  • Strive to maintain personal drug testing procedures that are flawless- undergo mandated remediation within 30 days of error notification
  • Promptly communicate with the radiology vendor to ensure quick x-ray reporting
  • Facilitate State Radiologic inspections (x-ray technicians only)
