Job Summary
Chart patient visits, obtain vitals including height, weight, BP, pulse, and respiratory rate, and collect urine, throat, and rectal swab samples. Administer and bill for vaccines under provider guidance, chart medications with dosage and route details, and perform EKGs. Log patient information into the EMR system, answer phones, and route callers appropriately. Disinfect exam rooms, stock bathrooms with supplies, and dispose of sharps and bio-hazardous materials safely. Maintain HIPAA compliance and cultural competency while assisting providers with medical tasks in a fast-paced environment. Work collaboratively with medical staff and administrative teams to deliver patient-centered care.
Required Qualifications
- Culturally competent while working, including being gender sensitive and pronoun aware.
- Be able to work with a team of medical assistants, providers, and administrative staff.
- Knowledge of basic computer skills, Excel, Word and how to use Electronic Medical Records.
- Experience with patient centered care.
- Punctuality and impeccable attendance.
- Strong communication skills with both professionals and patients from all demographics.
- Non-judgmental approach to patient care.
- Technical skills with required office equipment.
- Patience and great attention to detail.
- Completely understand the healthcare privacy laws as outlined in HIPAA.
