Medical Assistant, Gynecologic Oncology

Provides clinical and clerical support to providers and patient care teams in back office and patient-related tasks to support delivery of high-quality patient care. Helps ensure smooth patient workflow within the department and assists the patient care team in implementing the medical plan of care. Integrates education, technical competence, and patient interaction skills to gain confidence and cooperation from patients and families. Performs duties under the direction of a clinician, including taking vital signs, preparing patients for exams, and administering injections; demonstrates knowledge of medical procedures, anatomy, physiology, and terminology; communicates clearly with diverse audiences; maintains time management and organizational skills; and supports use of electronic health records (EHR) and Microsoft Office applications. Job requires ability to work independently as well as within a team, prioritizing tasks in a regulated environment and collaborating with peers and healthcare providers to achieve departmental objectives.
