Job Summary
The role of a Medical Assistant at Group Health Cooperative of South Central Wisconsin involves rooming patients, taking vital signs, collecting medical histories, and assisting with exams and procedures. Candidates should have completed training as a Medical Assistant, Licensed Practical Nurse, Paramedic, or EMT from an accredited program. National certification as an MA must be obtained within the first six months of employment, along with a valid Healthcare Provider CPR/AED certificate.
Required Qualifications
- Successfully completed an MA training program from an accredited school or program and must be eligible for national certification or have three years of MA experience and current national certification
- Licensed Practical Nurses must have successfully completed an LPN training program and have current licensure as a practical nurse in Wisconsin
- Emergency Medical Technicians must have completed an approved training program and hold a valid State of Wisconsin license as an EMT or AEMT or Paramedic
- Possession of a valid Healthcare Provider CPR/AED certificate
- One year of relevant experience working in a clinic or outpatient setting is desirable
- Knowledge of standard clinical procedures, medical terminology, and basic pharmacology
- Ability to use computer-based applications and maintain quality and safety standards

- Must possess a valid Wisconsin driver license if operating a motor vehicle
