Job Summary
Medical Assistant to support physicians and advance practice clinicians with patient care and clinical operations. Responsibilities include assisting with patient care, performing pre-visit planning, obtaining vital signs, performing standing orders, reviewing medical histories, preparing patients for examinations and assisting with procedures, collecting lab specimens, administering medications and immunizations, conducting vision/hearing tests, EKGs, spirometry, wound care, nebulized therapies, and other clinical orders. Ensure data is properly documented in the EHR and NCIR, relay instructions to patients, send medication orders/refills to pharmacies, and complete practitioner-related administrative duties. Provide temporary front desk support (check-in/check-out, scheduling, insurance verification) and maintain OSHA-compliant sanitation, medical waste disposal, and inventory of supplies and equipment. Maintain and operate clinical equipment and participate in maintenance of laboratory machines and crash carts in accordance with organizational policies.
Required Qualifications
- Completion of high school or equivalent
- Certificate in medical assisting or nursing assisting (certificate-type program)
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
