Job Summary
Prepare exam and treatment rooms, ensuring they are cleaned and stocked at the end of each shift. Review patient history, medications, and procedure understanding to make notes in EMA, while consistently completing MIPS information in medical records. Assist providers during surgical procedures including excisions, Mohs surgery, and cosmetic treatments, and support the front desk with phone answers, patient scheduling, and reception assistance. Clean and perform spore testing on the autoclave, check medication expiration dates, and maintain accurate records for biopsy books, slides, and pathology reports. Process prescription refills with proper authorization and manage the pathology and culture log. This role requires substantial multitasking to ensure timely completion of all responsibilities within our expanding California dermatology group.
Required Qualifications
- Customer service skills or a patient-centered mindset
- Previous Dermatology, healthcare, or aesthetics experience
- Knowledgeable with insurance carriers (i.e., Medicare, commercial, HMO)
- EClinicalWorks, EMA, or other EMR software
- COVID-19 primary series vaccination
- Eligibility to work in the United States (E-Verify)
