Job Summary
The Medical Assistant assists in examination and treatment of patients under the direction of an urgent care provider; manages the check-in and registration process, interviews patients, measures vital signs (pulse, temperature, blood pressure, weight, height), and records information on charts; may draw and collect blood samples and prepare specimens for laboratory analysis; prepares treatment rooms for examination; conducts point-of-care testing (flu, strep, urinalysis, ECG, HCG); handles front-desk duties, confirms insurance eligibility, and coordinates referrals; maintains medical records and supplies, and performs opening/closing duties and related tasks as assigned. Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent with Medical Assisting program preferred and Basic Life Support (BLS) certification; experience with phlebotomy, EKG, and front-desk duties is favorable. The role is based in Greenvale, NY, within Northwell-GoHealth Urgent Care centers, with full-time hours and an hourly wage of $18.50–$27.25 plus monthly incentive pay based on performance metrics.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma required
- Graduate of a Medical Assisting Program preferred
- Phlebotomy and EKG experience preferred
- Front Desk experience preferred
- Basic Life Support (BLS) required at time of hire
