Job Summary
Register patients, verify insurance, and prepare them for examination while recording medical history and vital signs. Perform point-of-care testing, assist providers during visits, and process co-pays to schedule follow-up appointments. Maintain clean exam rooms, manage medical records, answer phones, and support daily clinic operations including opening and closing duties. This fast-paced, patient-facing role ensures an efficient care experience from check-in through discharge at Community–GoHealth Urgent Care centers.
Required Qualifications
- Medical Assistant certification is REQUIRED at time of hire
- CCMA – Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (NHA)
- CMA – Certified Medical Assistant (AAMA or CHP)
- RMA – Registered Medical Assistant (AMT, AAH, or ARMA)
- NCMA – National Certified Medical Assistant (NCCT)
- NRCMA – Nationally Registered Certified Medical Assistant (NAHP)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) (American Red Cross or American Heart Association) – required at hire
- High school diploma or equivalent required
Desired Qualifications
- Graduate of a Medical Assistant program
- 1+ year of Medical Assistant experience within the last 3 years
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology
- Excellent communication and patient service skills
- Ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced environment
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Proficiency with EMR systems and Microsoft Office
- Team-oriented with a collaborative mindset
