Job Summary
Medical Assistant (GI) assists physicians/PA/NP with patient flow, room preparation, and procedures in a GI setting. Responsibilities include preparing examination rooms, escorting patients, maintaining patient flow, documenting allergies and vital signs in the EHR, scheduling appointments, stocking supplies, processing orders and referrals in the PMS/EHR, and providing scribing support as needed. Requires High School Diploma or equivalent and graduation from an accredited MA or phlebotomy program, with 0-1 year of related experience; Basic Life Support (BLS) certification and English communication ability are required. Proficiency in computer use and ability to manage multiple tasks in a timely manner are also required. Travel to satellite offices as needed.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Graduated from an accredited medical assistant or phlebotomy program
- 0-1 year related work experience required
- Basic Life Support (BLS) required
- Ability to communicate in English (oral and written)
- Ability to organize and perform multiple tasks in a timely manner
- Basic proficiency in computer use
