Job Summary
Support the patient and provider throughout the visit by ensuring both are prepared and answering patient questions prior to departure. Complete appropriate documentation including patient registration if necessary and maintain clinical knowledge through personal professional development. Communicate via phone and in person to ensure patient needs are met timely and accurately while working effectively with fellow employees to ensure efficient patient flow. Adapt behavior to the specific patient population by respecting privacy and adjusting explanations of services or procedures as needed. Comply with all policies, standards, and federal, state, and local laws regarding regulations and accreditation standards.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma/GED or equivalent
- Experience working with and maintaining confidential information
- Experience working in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision
- Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association
- Clinical knowledge
- Proficiency in using computers, software, and web-based applications
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to present information clearly and professionally to varying levels of individuals throughout the patient care process
- Strong interpersonal and customer service skills
- Ability to lift 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally
- Ability to lift 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently
- Ability to lift greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly
- Residence in Louisiana (not in Colorado, California, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Massachusetts, Minnesota, New Jersey, New York, Vermont, Washington, or Washington D.C.)
Desired Qualifications
- Completion of a formal medical assistant training program
