Job Summary
Conduct phlebotomy, prepare specimens for lab transport, and perform simple laboratory procedures while taking vital signs and preparing patients for procedures. Assist with patient flow, answer phones, schedule appointments, collect co-pays, and process billing information. Update electronic medical records and ensure the clinical environment is cleaned, stocked, and ready for patient care. Provide general clinical support to physicians and other staff. Requires BLS certification, medical terminology experience, and knowledge of the Bloodborne Pathogen Standard. High school diploma or equivalent is required, with a medical assisting degree preferred.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Six months of healthcare experience
- One year of medical terminology experience
- Knowledge of the Bloodborne Pathogen Standard
- Experience in clinical pharmacology
- BLS certification
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs
- Must be available for weekend shifts
- Must be able to work in a drug-free workplace
Desired Qualifications
- Graduation from a medical assisting degree/program
- One year of healthcare/medical - primary care/office experience
- Medical Assistant Certification
- Emergency Medical Technician (EMT)
