Medical Assistant, Gastroenterology

Clean and stock the clinical environment, perform phlebotomy and simple laboratory procedures, and prepare specimens for transport. Take vital signs, prepare patients for procedures, and assist with patient flow while answering phones and managing appointments. Collect co-pays, assist with billing, and update the electronic medical record. Requires BLS certification, medical terminology experience, and knowledge of the Bloodborne Pathogen Standard. Six months of healthcare experience is required; one year of primary care experience and clinical pharmacology knowledge are preferred. Medical Assistant Certification or EMT is preferred.
