Job Summary
Medical Assistant in pediatric urgent care provides clinical and administrative support to patients, families, and providers under physician supervision. Responsibilities include greeting and registering patients, obtaining medical history and vital signs, preparing patients for X-rays, performing routine labs (e.g., throat and urine cultures with venipuncture experience), wound care assistance, assisting with lab quality control, maintaining clean and stocked exam rooms, ensuring safety and patient confidentiality, and supporting the patient care team to deliver efficient, compassionate pediatric care.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Prior experience and/or education as a Medical Assistant
- Knowledge or EKG placement and processing in children
- Ability to obtain laboratory tests via nasal swab, and venipuncture
- Demonstrate a professional and friendly demeanor
- Strong communications and organizational skills
- Prior pediatric experience
- Capable of multi-tasking in a fast-paced environment
- Comfortable with computers, Microsoft Office Suite
- Willing to learn medical software
- Experience with medical records preferred
