Job Summary
Prepares patients for exams, obtains clinical information via the electronic medical record system, and assists physicians with minor office surgical procedures. Accurately fits patients with durable medical equipment, draws up injections as directed, and facilitates outside services such as physical therapy and radiology. Obtains insurance authorizations, ensures exam rooms are stocked and maintained, and manages patient scheduling in a high-volume environment. Requires CMA or RMA certification, at least two years of experience, and a valid Connecticut driver's license for travel across Fairfield, Milford, Shelton, or Stratford locations. Bilingual candidates are a plus.
Required Qualifications
- CMA or RMA certification through AAMA or AMT
- HS Diploma or equivalent
- At least two (2) years experience as a Medical Assistant
- Ability to multi-task in a high-volume office
- Working knowledge of insurances
- Ability to provide excellent patient customer service
- Ability to assist with a broad spectrum of patients
- Bilingual status
- Reliable transportation
- Valid Connecticut driver's license
Desired Qualifications
- Experience working as a Medical Assistant in a mid-to large-sized medical practice
- Preference for orthopaedics experience
