Job Summary
Greet patients from the waiting room, verify intake information including vital signs and medications, and document accurate data in the electronic medical record. Prepare examination areas, coordinate in-office testing and specimen collection, and maintain inventory of medical equipment and supplies. Perform pathology audits, coach new colleagues on procedures, and ensure compliance with service excellence standards while supporting timely patient flow. Conduct environmental rounds and process specimens as directed by the provider.
Required Qualifications
- 1 year MA experience
- MA certification
- EMT certification
- 3 years relevant healthcare/patient care experience
- reliable transportation
- High School diploma/GED
- new graduate of Medical Assistant program
- Nursing Assistant training program
- 3 years job related experience in a medical office
- Basic medical knowledge
- medical terminology
- Skilled in obtaining accurate patient vital signs
- Data entry
- Some manual skills/motor coord & finger dexterity
- Some occupational risk
- Sedentary/light effort
- May exert up to 10 lbs. force
- Some exposure to dirt, odors, noise, human waste, etc.
