Job Summary
Gathers patient data through interview and observation, assists patients with examination preparation, and supports physicians during procedures. Documents treatments, procedures, and patient education per department policies while acting as a liaison to schedule specialty testing and consultations. Processes incoming and outgoing calls using clinical judgment, enters medication and diagnostic orders into the electronic medical system, and participates in quality assurance activities. Adheres to infection control standards and Orlando Health policies while maintaining regular attendance. Requires current BLS certification and one of several recognized medical assistant certifications.
Required Qualifications
- High school graduate or equivalent
- Successful completion of Medical Assistant training from an approved technical school
- verifiable applicable work experience in a patient care setting
- Maintains current American Heart Association BLS Healthcare Provider Certification
- Maintains current certification by one of the following agencies within 6 months of hire: Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA) by National Healthcareer Association (NHA), Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) by the American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA), Clinical Medical Assistant Certification (CMAC) by the American Medical Certification Association (AMCA), National Certified Medical Assistant (NCMA) by National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT), Nationally Registered Certi...
