Job Summary

Greet and prepare patients for examinations by verifying identity, taking vital signs, and documenting medical histories. Assist providers with procedures within scope, administer injections, collect specimens, and perform point-of-care tests. Document clinical information accurately in the electronic health record and maintain exam rooms by cleaning, stocking supplies, and ensuring equipment function. Coordinate patient flow by preparing rooms, calling patients from the waiting area, and communicating delays. Handle administrative tasks including scheduling appointments, answering phones, processing referrals, and managing medical records. Provide patients with instructions regarding medications, treatments, and follow-up appointments as directed by providers.

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Proficiency in English, both written and verbal

Desired Qualifications

  • Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program
  • Current Medical Assistant certification or registration (e.g., CMA, RMA, CCMA, NCMA)
  • Previous experience as a Medical Assistant or in a clinical healthcare setting
  • Working knowledge of basic clinical procedures, vital signs, and infection control practices
  • Familiarity with electronic health records (EHR) systems and basic computer skills, including data entry and email
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact professionally and compassionately with patients, families, and staff
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in documentation, specimen labeling, and medication-related tasks
  • Physical ability to stand, walk, and move between exam rooms for extended periods, and to lift or move patients and equipment within reasonable limits
  • Demonstrated reliability, punctuality, and commitment to patient confidentiality and ethical standards
  • Additional language skills
