Job Summary
Register patients, verify insurance, and schedule appointments while processing co-pays. Perform vital signs, preliminary assessments, and point-of-care testing including flu, strep, urinalysis, ECG, and HCG. Prepare patients for examination, record medical history, and assist providers with procedures. Maintain exam rooms, supplies, and medical records while answering patient questions and coordinating referrals. Perform opening and closing duties, conduct equipment quality checks, and support a safe, organized clinical environment. All duties must be completed accurately, with high quality, and in a timely manner.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- 1+ years of working experience as a Medical Assistant in a Hospital, Primary Care, Emergency Department, or Urgent Care setting
- CCMA- Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (verified through NHA, National Health career Association)
- CMA- Certified Medical Assistant (verified through AAMA, American Association of Medical Assistants, or CHP Certified Health Professionals)
- RMA- Registered Medical Assistant (verified through AMT, American Medical Technologists, or AAH, American Allied Health, or ARMA American Registry of Medical Assistants)
- NCMA- National Certified Medical Assistant (verified through NCCT, National Center for Competency Testing)
- NRCMA- Nationally Registered Certified Medial Assistant (verified through the National Association for Health Professionals)
- Graduate of an Accredited School of Nursing, LPN or LVN at the time of hire (verified through state license)
- EMT- Emergency Medical Technician (verified through state certification and/or the National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians)
- Paramedic (verified through state certification and/or and the National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians)
- CPOE certification
- Basic Life Support (BLS)
- CCMA- Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (verified through NHA, National HealthCareer Association)
- CMA- Certified Medical Assistant (verified through AAMA, American Association of Medical Assistant)
- RMA- Registered Medical Assistant (verified through AMT, American Medical Technologists or AAH, American Allied Health)
