Job Summary
Room patients, obtain vital signs, and document symptoms in the electronic medical record. Provide injections, immunizations, and assist with procedures as ordered by the provider. Manage communications by answering telephones, scheduling appointments, processing insurance verifications, and triaging urgent needs. Maintain patient areas by disinfecting exam rooms and assisting with supply inventory. Answer questions, resolve concerns, and complete referrals accurately while protecting patient confidentiality.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or General Educational Development (GED) certificate
- A Medical Assistant certification from an accredited program such as NHA and AMCA
- BLS Certification (American Heart Association)
- At least one year of related medical assisting experience in a physician's office or other clinical setting, or equivalent combination of training and experience
- measles, mumps, varicella, and annual influenza immunizations
- COVID-19 vaccination/booster
