Job Summary
Room and manage pediatric patients by obtaining vital signs, assessing requests, documenting symptoms, and providing injections or immunizations as ordered. Assist providers with procedures, re-process instruments, and maintain patient areas by disinfecting exam rooms and managing supplies. Handle administrative tasks including answering phones, scheduling appointments, processing insurance verifications, and managing referrals through electronic medical records. Recognize urgent needs to triage care and maintain patient confidentiality while adhering to C.A.R.E.S. standards. Work an 8-hour day shift with 40 weekly hours at MarinHealth Medical Center or network clinics in San Rafael and Novato.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or General Educational Development (GED) certificate
- A Medical Assistant certification from an accredited program such as NHA and AMCA
- BLS Certification (American Heart Association)
- At least one year of related medical assisting experience in a physician's office or other clinical setting, or equivalent combination of training and experience
- measles, mumps, varicella, and annual influenza immunizations
- COVID-19 vaccination/booster
