Job Summary
Room patients, obtain vital signs, and document symptoms in the electronic medical record. Provide injections, immunizations, and assist with procedures as ordered by the provider. Manage communications by answering telephones, scheduling appointments, and processing insurance verifications. Maintain patient areas by disinfecting exam rooms and managing supply inventory. Recognize urgent needs to triage care appropriately and protect patient confidentiality throughout all interactions.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or General Educational Development (GED) certificate
- A Medical Assistant certification from an accredited program such as NHA and AMCA
- BLS Certification (American Heart Association)
- At least one year of related medical assisting experience in a physician's office or other clinical setting, or equivalent combination of training and experience
- measles, mumps, varicella, and annual influenza immunizations
- COVID-19 vaccination/booster
