Medical Assistant for GYN

Job Summary
Record patients' medical histories, vital signs, and pertinent information into electronic medical records while preparing treatment rooms and sterilizing instruments. Interview patients to obtain medical data, administer medications, collect laboratory specimens, and explain treatment procedures and physician instructions. Greet and log in arriving patients, schedule appointments, and contact facilities to coordinate tests or admissions. Change wound dressings, operate X-Ray and EKG equipment for diagnostic testing, and restock exam rooms with supplies. Manage inventory, submit supply orders, and complete insurance forms under the direction of licensed providers. Travel to various facilities as needed to fulfill patient and provider requirements.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 1-year medical assistance experience
- Knowledge of medical terminology and basic medical procedures
- Ability to operate medical equipment and computer software
- Familiarity with HIPAA regulations and medical laws and ethics
- The ability to travel to our various facilities
Desired Qualifications
- Medical Assistant Certification
- Operation of x-ray equipment
- Prior experience with injections procedures
- Prior experience with EClinical Works (eCW), Athena, and other EMRs
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Ability to prioritize tasks and work independently
