Job Summary
Coordinate patient care under provider supervision by preparing and rooming patients, obtaining vital signs, documenting history and medication screenings, and updating the EHR. Administer medications, perform back office testing, and ensure exam rooms are stocked and instruments are sterilized per AHN protocols. Assist with examinations, serve as a scribe with additional training, and provide follow-up communications to patients. Float between physician office locations as required.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum High School / GED
- Completion of a Medical Assistant Program Certification
- CPR – American Heart Association
- Act 34 Criminal Background Clearance Certificate
- Act 33 Child Abuse Clearance Certificate
- Act 73 FBI Fingerprinting
- Certification in NHA, AAMA, AMT, NCCT, or AMCA
- Ability to obtain certification within 120 days of hire
- Compliance with HIPAA
- Adherence to company's Code of Business Conduct
- Ability to comply with applicable federal and state laws, rules, and regulations
- Ability to comply with company policies and training requirements
- Ability to comply with data security guidelines
- Ability to protect covered information, cardholder data, or other confidential customer information
- Ability to float/travel between physician office locations
Desired Qualifications
- Associate's Degree
- One year of work experience as a medical assistant in the last three years
