Job Summary
Coordinate patient care under provider supervision by preparing and rooming patients, obtaining vital signs, and documenting history, tobacco, and medication screenings in the EHR. Administer medications, perform back office testing, and ensure exam rooms are stocked and instruments are sterilized per approved protocols. Assist with examinations, provide follow-up communications, and notify patients of test results. May serve as a scribe, float between physician office locations, or complete annual wellness visit screenings.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum High School / GED
- Completion of a Medical Assistant Program Certification
- Certification training
- Certification testing
- Certification within 120 days of hire
- Accepted Medical Assistant Certification (NHA, AAMA, AMT, NCCT, AMCA)
- CPR – American Heart Association
- Act 34 Criminal Background Clearance Certificate
- Act 33 Child Abuse Clearance Certificate
- Act 73 FBI Fingerprinting Criminal Background Clearance Certificate
- HIPAA compliance
- Adherence to applicable federal and state laws, rules, and regulations
- Adherence to company policies and training requirements
