Job Summary
Place patients in exam rooms, complete exam intakes including medical and social histories, and ensure accurate charting for the physician. Provide patient care under the direction of a podiatric physician by taking and developing x-rays and assisting in the exam room as required. Perform daily administrative tasks such as stocking rooms, disposing of trash, and cleaning and sterilizing exam and x-ray rooms after each visit. Satisfy and document required quality measures and audits, then travel to surrounding area clinics to provide support if needed. Support the connection of patients to the extended care team of Nurse Practitioners and Care Navigators when required.
Required Qualifications
- Previous experience as a Medical Assistant
- Must be an effective communicator with excellent grammar and interpersonal skills
- Exceptional customer service orientation featuring an empathetic, compassionate, and professional demeanor with each interaction
- Demonstrated experience as a motivated and dedicated team member with a stable work history
- Reliable transportation
- The ability to pass a background check
- The ability to pass a drug test
Desired Qualifications
- MA Certification
- Podiatry or Orthopedic clinic experience
- X-ray experience
- Excellent computer skills
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology
- Previous experience working in an EMR
- Experience with athenahealth EMR
