Job Summary
Medical Assistant Float providing administrative and clinical support in outpatient orthopedic clinics across multiple Illinois offices. Responsibilities include escorting patients to exam rooms, preparing patients for examinations, assisting physicians, triage for radiologic studies, wound care assessment, casting/removals when applicable, processing prescriptions, coordinating referrals and patient education, maintaining infection control, charting and documentation, scheduling and coordinating appointments, and handling clerical duties such as handling patient records and insurance information. Requires CPR certification and an accredited Medical Assistant program (completion is a plus). Prior orthopedic experience is preferred. The role demands strong communication, multi-tasking in a fast-paced environment, and collaboration with physicians, staff, and patients across Westmont, Western Springs, Naperville, Joliet, and New Lenox offices.
Required Qualifications
- Successful completion of an accredited Medical Assistant Program is a plus
- Maintains CPR certification
- Experience in an orthopedic healthcare setting is preferred
- Able to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment
- Good verbal and written communication and writing skills
- Possess good working knowledge of practice management and EHR software, Google products, Microsoft Office and Windows-based computer applications
- Strong interpersonal skills, able to work well and communicate professionally with physicians, patients and staff in all levels in the organization
